Niki's Kitchen Cafe
About This Spot
Stepping into Niki’s Kitchen Cafe, you’re greeted by a warm, inviting welcome that immediately feels like a little local secret shared among friends. Nestled along Newcastle’s Central Promenade, this spot hums with gentle energy—the kind that makes time slow just enough for you to savor a quiet moment or catch up with a familiar face. Here, breakfast isn’t just the first meal of the day—it’s a quiet celebration of simple pleasures. The inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee blends seamlessly with the sweet scent of warm pastries and freshly baked scones, promising a gentle start. The kitchen’s offerings reflect a thoughtful embrace of classic comforts alongside unexpected twists that invite curiosity—whether it’s a richly layered club sandwich or a perfectly toasted sourdough crowned with bacon, avocado, and poached egg.
The pace feels easy but purposeful, fitting for a spot that welcomes early risers and those dropping by for a quick catch-up lunch alike. You might notice how the space fills with the easy murmurs of friends and family, a clink of coffee cups, and the occasional burst of laughter that feels unforced and genuine. This is a place where the team’s warmth comes through quietly but unmistakably, weaving genuine hospitality into every moment.
Beyond the food and drink, Niki’s Kitchen Cafe thrives on those human moments—the shared smiles between staff and regulars, the joy of discovering a new favorite treat by the food counter, or the comfortable rhythm of a weekend gathering that feels just right. It’s a little sanctuary for the everyday, a reminder that a good meal and kind company can be simple, joyful anchors in a busy day.

The fry up wasn't as good as I'd hoped, the sausages didn't have any flavour. The pancakes were light and fluffy. Prices on Google need changing as the large breakfast cost twice as much as it showed here.

Called in for breakfast. Was hard to think about breakfast when the food counter was full of delicious looking cakes, cheesecake, sausage rolls, scones and tray bakes. We ordered breakfast which arrived quickly, lovely , dry plate, no grease. 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, beans, soda and potato bread and toast, coffee included which is nice to see. 10 out of 10 from me.

Just popped in here for coffee and got traybakes. It was very busy but we got a table. The coffee was good and the traybakes lovely. They seem to serve lunch before noon which is a bonus for anyone in a hurry and can't wait for other places opening at 12pm. Recommended as they have seating upstairs too.

Arrived at 3pm bank holiday monday after hiking Slieve Donard. It was packed and staff were run off their feet but still remained friendly and efficient. Had a club sandwich and a cuban pork toasted sandwich - both very good.
